General Aim and Overview of this Trip:

The trip is aimed at gaining a basic experience of self-travel in the mountains in winter conditions including use of winter equipment, survival and traversing of glaciers.

During your stay, you will learn:

● How to walk with Crampons, use of Ice Axe, Self Arrest, moving with a rope and securing of anchor points

● Use of avalanche equipment such as a detector, avalanche probe and shovel

● Trekking in the Gasienicowa valley and if the weather permits, the ascent of 1 or 2 mountain summits

● Winter bivouac and snow hole construction and use

Things taught by presentation

- skills required for higher level trekking on Snow/Glaciers

-Necessary skills for trekking/climbing and survival at sub zero temperatures

-knowledge of hypothermia and frostbite

-equipment for summer and winter trekking

-basic mountain navigation skills

The Cost of your Trip will include the following:

● Pre-departure information

● In-Country transport from Krakow Airport to/from Zakopane

● Locating and pre-arrangement of suitable accommodation

● accommodation 5 nights with breakfast

● training in the Mountains, safety and equipment skills

● All guiding and care while trekking in the mountains with your leader and a Tour of the city of Krakow before departure

● Package price: 430 euros
